Infographic/Data Visualization | North State Journal: 2016 election — Who are we?

The five weeks leading up to the 2016 election, we published a series in our news section called “North Carolina, the Battleground State”. Each issue focused on the hottest topics for North Carolinian voters. But before we could discuss how North Carolinians would vote on topics like our healthcare, education, the economy and our judicial system, we needed to look at who we are. We compiled data on ethnicity, religion, gender, income, voting trends, age, military activity and I wanted to create an infographic that could communicate the data quickly and accurately, while leaving room for our writers to add detail and context for our readers.
